Email addresses
If you choose to have your recommendations emailed to you or sign up for updates, we collect your email address. We use it only for what you signed up for, and every email includes an unsubscribe link. We do not sell or rent your email address to anyone.
Technical information
Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure automatically logs basic technical data such as IP addresses and browser types for security and to prevent abuse (for example, rate limiting). We also apply standard rate limits to our recommendation engine based on IP address.
Third-Party Services
Our recommendation engine runs on Abacus.AI infrastructure and uses AI models to interpret your answers and rank options from our product catalog. Your quiz answers and optional project description are processed by that service to generate recommendations. We do not send it your name, email, or account information.

Our rule: affiliate relationships never determine our recommendations. Recommendations are based on how well a tool fits what you told us you need. Sometimes our top recommendation is a product we have no affiliate relationship with — that’s by design.
